What it Takes to be a Professional Athlete: An Interview

Although she asked about the lows as well as the highs of professional racing, that wasn’t even the toughest question during my chat with Ally from Asphalt Green last week. Thankfully, she left out the pauses and the “umms” and summarized what I blabbered on and on about! I divulged answers to:

  • What my first sport was (it’s not swimming, biking, nor running!)
  • How my approach is different in racing at the professional level
  • How I rebounded from being the LAST pro at Eagleman
  • My goals for 2019. This was actually the hardest question. Something about publishing measurable goals and exposing the pass/fail barometer is really tough to do. Which is probably why I’ve never done it. But something about seeing in print made me really proud that I shared it publicly!

Super thanks to Coach Cane / City Coach and my partners AaptivCentral Park Track Club New BalanceNuunTYRPickybarsZealios, and HED, who deserve some love!
